Ayia Napa – Cyprus

Agia Napa is definitely the perfect destination for a frozen visitor looking for sunshine and friendly locals. The golden beaches in Agia Napa with Nissi Beach being the number one, and the whole atmosphere makes you want to return to Ayia Napa every summer.

In the summer, Ayia Napa vibrates with life and energy, in the winter, the village is returned to the locals and becomes a small fishing village. Down by the harbour in Agia Napa you will find the traditional fishing boats that share their space with the colourful excursion and recreational boats.

Agia Napa is suitable for all ages and there is plenty of sights and activities in and around Agia Napa. During the peak season, June, July and August the centre of Agia Napa is buzzing, if you are looking for family accommodation – choose a hotel a bit outside the centre.
And for those who are planning a partytrip to Ayia Napa there is only one rule,  stay as close to centre as possible.

Local buses and shops in Agia Napa
There are local buses that take you around Agia Napa and to the surrounding villages, the journey is € 1.00, children under 12 travel for free. There are also plenty of taxis around town, just flag one down.

In Ayia Napa you will find plenty of souvenir shops, clothing and shoe shops. You will find brand names as well as cheaper brands.
There are also plenty of smaller and larger supermarkets and bakeries in every neighbourhood. The prices of tobacco and spirits are very low in Cyprus comparing to other European countries.

If you are looking for a supermarket with good value for the money, look out for the Plus, supermarket which is located on Krio Nero Avenue, not far from the monastery square. Local bus passes by the shop several times per day. There is no Lidl in Agia Napa yet, but you will fins one Lidl in Protaras.

Agia Napa is counted as a tourist area and the shops are open all day without closing for siesta. However, most shops close at lunchtime on Sundays.

The restaurants in Agia Napa close at 01:00, last orders are usually at 22:45. The pubs are closing at 2:00, the music must be turned off by1:30 and night clubs close at 4:00. But for those who want to party until the sun comes up, there’s always River Reggae Club closes at 7:00.
